Hello guys Big Grin

As I know, Intel i7 2630qm processor supports AES-NI, But the microcode of processor must be version 1A or later

My laptop, hp elitebook 2560p bios include the version 1A, but after installing the latest verion (version F.63 Rev.A) bios, the microcode did NOT be updated Sad

(using bios intel microcode editor check the microcode included in the bios)

Now I want to know, how to update the microcode to version 1A? Huh

PS:  Sorry about my poor English
Make & post a screenshot of regedit with expanded key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0
Also post screenshots of first (CPU) & third (Mainboard) tabs of CPU-Z with this CPU.

First screenshot is wrong. It's for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\, but for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0 is needed.

Sorry, my bad[Image: NnOpzlR.png]
You use engineering sample processor with for CPUID=0x206A6.
So microcode version 1A (for CPUID=0x206A7) isn't compatible for it.

Do you mean that I could NEVER use the AES-NI?
I don't know any version of microcode for this ES CPU with AES support.
BTW: now version 0x28 (for CPUID=0x206A6) is loaded.

So, can 206A6 update to 206A7?
Only CPU change can help.
