Hi,

I have do some change for the bios. By update microcode to support the CPU, but end up at error on checksum

My system is using i7 720QM. I want to upgrade it to i7 920XM. CPUID: 0106e5

For the i7 920XM is "SLBLW"

For detail:

i7 720QM "SLBLY"
i7 920XM "SLBLW

The BIOS file is the latest from Dell, and also the microcode file

Thank,

I've updated microcode to version 04. It's enough for booting i7-920XM.
Windows updates microcode to version 07.
Check it with new CPU.
So now I will install the i7 920XM to check that it work or not, right?
Right
Nothing happen. The screen doesn't turn on. CPU fan doesn't run. Only hear small sound of HDD spinning

I do with CMOS Battery remove for 5m to reset all setting + Only 1 RAM on Dimm 1 + Without Battery only apdater
It isn't microcode issue. BIOS mod can't help you, because it isn't loaded by a motherboard at all.
