while the B99 processor is nearly hard to find, the 95 watt version of the 955 (on the other hand) is easier to get as I got one myself (it's HDX955WFK4DGM) - look it up at this CPU-World page.  The B99 CPU is HP part no. 647012-001 (look for that one either on eBay or Amazon)

Most of the 955 CPUs (rev. C2 & C3 BE) were rated at 125w except for the HDX955WFK4DGM version (rev. C3 non-BE), which was the latest revision and has a TDP rating of 95w.

Yeah I tried it, said incompatible, Rather than version v5.59 it's version bios v5.49... same mod im sure to make in the bios ... it's not the same though .. may need phoenix editor i think to extract?

Would it be possible to flash HP bios to compaq board... would there be a change to get the cpu working that way?

Tried this mod on Compaq CQ5105SC Narra5 board. With phenom ii x4 960T 95w cpu... No post
