Hi, i have simillar problem as described here https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/forums/v3_1...516/page/1

Laptop is just 1 year old (warranty expired), usually on boot the screen stays black as rest of the parts working as normal.
Opened the laptop to see if the desktop cable was loose, but it seems normal, tried to update bios, but i get the error 216 can't read from ROM  or something like that...
Then i found the solution for the lenovo Z580, and i think its just the same problem(bios fail) , but i couldn't find how can i flash bios that's not from windows ( our .exe bios file contains .cap format).
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Did you follow the solution exactly as posted in the Lenovo forums?
Also I think bios file needs to be in .rom or .bin which you should be able to find on these forums.

If you can't find your bios, you may have to extract it from the .exe using a tool which you can look at here:

Good luck! Big Grin
1. In lenovo forums, this guy had custom bios image for his particular laptop (z580), i couldn't find any custom image for my yoga 500.
2. The file that i extract from .exe file from lenovo support has .cap formt, whuch i'm not sure u can just rename as described in some guides.
3. The wiki link is offline Big Grin
