Alright, so I'm trying to do the LGA 771 to 775 mod. I've got a Xeon X5472 and a Gigabyte GA-945GCMX-S2 board. The only issue is getting a modified BIOS to support the microcodes. The site only lists an update tool, but doesn't provide a ROM file for adding the microcodes into. Does anyone here either know a way to add the microcodes without modifying a BIOS ROM, or a way to repack their strange proprietary files into a ROM format? Some help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a link to their support page for this board.

FSB=1600 Mhz isn't supported by this motherboard.
It uses usual Award BIOS. Try BIOS mod by IdeaFix.
P.S. I think quad cores aren't supported.
Quad core cpus are officially not supported, but is there a way to mod the bios so as to use a core2quad q6600 which is fsb 1066?
If so i'm very much interested

No way. It's hardware incompatibility.
