Ok, I put the XEON E5440 it did boot to dos. So what can I do now ?? Thanks for the time.
Thanks for the help in advance.
Not sure what I am doing wrong but, it says I need a 64 bit program ? Even if I add the 64 to command.
It can't be run from Windows!
Make DOS USB-stick (e.g, by Rufus) and unzip all files to it.
Boot from it and

Now boot in Windows and make a screenshot of regedit with expanded key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0

OK. Question, can I switch this E5440 to X5460 now that the codes are good ? Thanks 8)
Microcode for all 45-nm Xeons (LGA771) stepping E0 was loaded successfully.
But for stepping C0 you should run CHECKUP7 again with new CPU installed.
Injecting microcodes for all steppings is impossible by this method.
BTW: Make new screenshot of CPU-Z (main tab).
