Bios Mods -The Best BIOS Update and Modification Source

Hello
I tried to upgrade from a i5 480 to a i7 720qm but after changing the CPU the computer does not turn on only for maybe a half second.
Would it be possible to mod the Bios to support the CPU or doesn't it work because the hardware doesn't support the CPU ?
