Hello.

The summer of 2018 would start off with my laptop suddenly dying Sad

After googling around i bought the CH341A from Ebay.
I have the ch341 flasher tool and i've tried to make a .bin file out of the .fd files but without any luck.

I use GNU/Linux and flashrom.

The hardware is: Acer Aspire E5-575-36UV NX.GE6ED.050
Link to the bios file: https://mega.nz/#!dmYjTQyY!TaxxI-RPAr5V5...KLYoOgrdco

Any help would be much appreciated!

The laptop won't turn the display on at all. I have tried every method to fash it with the FN+ESC option, formated the USB in FAT16 and FAT32 and renamed files or just use the default names of the files that i've extracted from the BIOS downloaded from Acer website. It simply does not work.

Hi
Your bios is rewrite protected
Bios mod can be flashed using SPI-programmer+SOIC8 clip only
Looking for the same thing as @ngthanhduc93.

Please unhide all the hidden sittings in the UEFI bios. I can't adjust anything.
  • My Laptop is: E5-575-521W
  • CPU: Intel i5-6200u
  • Bios Version: is ZAA 1.47 with download link: BIOS_Acer_1.47_A_A.zip
While the BIOS doesn't appear to be locked, I could be mistaken. If it is, I'm more than willing and able to get the tools to unlock it so I can have full access to all the BIOS features.

Thanks for your help!

Hi
Your bios is rewrite protected
You need SPI-programmer+SOIC8 clip
Hello! I'm here trying to get help unlocking my laptop BIOS. I want to overclock the CPU clock and voltage so I can see how much I can push it.
I am well aware of the risks. My NVIDIA 940MX (GM108) is at 1324MHz core clock (+135MHz) and at 3000MHz (+1000MHz) memory clock, stable under stress at any time you want it to run testing, and with real performance gains around +10-20% in some games with no thermal problems.

If it burns, I really don't care. It is mostly for fun and discovery purposes. I intend to share some stable configuration of this laptop/CPU model (i3-6006U).

Current BIOS menus: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipNT...hSNEtxMkpn
BIOS Image (v1.47): https://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles...SC=EMEA_21

If you need anything more from me feel free to ask.
Even if I have to mod it myself, I would like to have some help from someone experienced.
