Hey there Bios-Gurus,

in order to do some discrete Undervolting of CPU and GPU on my Laptop without Powerrestrictions, for better longevity and Performance/Heatmanagement, and for more settings in UEFI (maybe more RAID-Options and Legacy Bios-Unlock too (hate the sluggish ASUS UEFI-GUI)),
i wanted to ask if some Specialist can Unlock my "Ami Aptio V" in hope it's not protected to do so?
Here are the required Specs:

-Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. - G752VSK
-BIOS Revision: G752VSK.304
-BIOS Type: AMI
-BIOS-Link: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/Ga...3.1895031974.1524644271-1282757403.1523608642

Thx in advance for your help/work!
Update:

No reply on this? Is the BIOS not Unlockable? oO

Greetz!
Yes, I can unlock this for you. Please check main BIOS page and get your ME FW version, or with HWINFO64 on large window in motherboard section.

Heyho und thx a lot for providing Help, well apreciated! =)

Started up HWINFO and selected MoBo Section, do you need only the MoBo-Section Highlighted or Colapsed with all it's Columms under it?

Greetz - Toxsys =)

Expand motherboard section, and see ME within that section, then find ME Firmware version (Or check on BIOS main page)

Also, are you 100% sure which system and BIOS you should be using? Looks like there is 2-3 models with similar names and BIOS, have you already flashed the above BIOS you linked?
https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.ph...re-G752VSK

We may be able to flash mod BIOS via AFUWINGUI, but I'm not sure, we'll test that first but since I usually rely on this ME/FPT method and prefer it I want to get all this out of the way too.

Please test this AFUWinGui, open it, save BIOS and then close, then re-open program, open the BIOS you saved and flash back that saved BIOS

Can you also please add images of all the main BIOS sections, just one each is fine, only need to see the main ones from text area (F7 advanced) like Main, Advanced, Security, Boot, Save & Exit

My fault, hehe, misinterpreted th FW-thing. Specs are following.

To the right BIOS part, ehm, ASUS has some strange Naming on Models of the G752.
In ROG-Forum i read something about, that there are generally only VS-VL-VY Variants, and the VSK should be only a intern Handle for Asus. Bit confusing,, because the VSK-Variant is sold and presented as the OC-Version of the G752. Seems strange. because with 7700HQ there is no really OC possible. On the Markings underneath the Laptop, mine says "G752VS(KBL)-BA462T. So its a VS or VSK? Dunno, thinking it's for sure a K, and yes the BIOS shown in last Post is flashed on this Laptop. Read that this is possible through 2 o 3 Models to flash BIOS from the other (same Chipset?), only the BIOS from the OC-Edtion G752 wouldn't work, cause its socketed with a 7780 i'll think.

You have a way to exactly figure out what model i have? Asus Supportcenter says according to Serialnumber, that it is a VS, but after Clicking on it there two options to chose from Dropdown-menue: VS and VSK, an because i have the the K in brackets, i slected the K-Bios, and it worked to Install. Also ther are no Issues with the Laptop since 10 months, hmmm... Big Grin

I allready Dumped my BIOS this morning with no issues, and can read it with AFUWINGUI, should i flashed again for proof? oO

Thx again in advance!!! =)

@Lost_N_BIOS:

i tryed your linked AFU, it gave me an instant Freeze on Desktop and no Operations are possible.
After 10min's of waiting, i'll powered the Laptop hard of. Results: 2 restarts needed to work properly again. First restart was a Boot with no Screen and didnt end with Win10-Log In Screen.

Any Ideas? oO

Ps.: wiht AFUWINGUIx64 5.11.06.1854 i dumped the Bios earlier without any Issues
Yes, very confusing with the BIOS names, and their replies in the forum about that don't help either Big Grin

Thanks for AFU info, it's hard to find proper version for every BIOS, and works to flash mod BIOS too, that's why I tend to not use it. It would open immediately if it was going to work, I've never seen one fail and cause freeze issues like you mention just by trying to open it?

Try the command line version included there instead of the GUI. Select the folder that contains the exe's, then hold shift and press right click, choose open command window here and run this command >> AFUWINx64.EXE biosback.bin /O

Does the version you mention you used, allow you to reflash the backup you created (This would be considered modified to AFU sometimes), so if it works then we can use that one (Maybe, not always backup = same as actual mod, but often)

My preferred way is this, download Intel ME System Tools V11 from this page, in section "C"
https://www.win-raid.com/t596f39-Intel-M...Tools.html

Inside you will find Flash Programming Tool folder, inside that a Win or Win32 folder, select that Win folder and hold shift, then press right click, choose open command window here (Not power shell). Then run the following command and upload the created file for me to modify
FPTw.exe -bios -d biosreg.bin

Yep, it Freezes instant after starting with Adminrights, only Fans are working and rising up/down slowly...was new for me too, cause other AFUWIN Versions gave me only Errors when Reading and try to dump the Bios. So i would say i'll try to flash back the dumped BIOS now with my AFU? What can happen? Brick or only Freeze? Heard thath Asus integraded a Fail-Safe Function to the Chipset of those Models. Or asked other: what can i do if the Process fails and Hard Reset didn't bring it back to Life? Disassemble the whole Laptop, pull Battery and in worst case Replace the BIOS-Chip? Oo Didn't hope so Big Grin

Downloaded the IST-V11. =)
That is weird, I wonder why it does this! Ohh well, I guess nothing we can do anyway.

Yes, see if AFU allows you to flash back your dump or not, it will either error or proceed. Nothing more will happen, don't worry Big Grin

But, no, if it ever bricks you wont need to replace the chip only reprogram it with a flash programmer (CH341A) and SOIC8 test clip cable. Both are $2.50 each on ebay, let me know if you need links, usually 3-5 weeks to deliver if ordered that cheap but well worth the wait and good to have in hand when playing with BIOS (even stock BIOS can brick, so always good to have these tools since so cheap)
