So i managed it myself. I "downgraded" to H5ET39WW using DOSFLASH and then applied one of the recent patches provided here.
The patch process in DOS mode took a lot more steps compared to the previous run on the wrong BIOS version. Now the BIOS identifies as H5ET69WW (and no longer H5ET39WW), and also UEFI boot was disabled after restart which took me a while to figure out. After enabling it again everything works now, including the intel wifi adapter
