Yes. U can use that file link given by u. The R0231Q0 version is applicable for multiple VGN-CR models.

So yes. U can use it.

Many thanks.
Hope u downloaded the file.
I need vtx option.
Does it have option to disable ACPI APIC related to power saving ,
Also i want to Adjust cpu fan start temp,

Lol...i m asking too much. This laptop is 2008 old.
I open R0231Q0.ROM form phoenix bios editor ,and find the related string ,only found "VT Capability".
I add it on advanced tab ,like below on emulate scrren .

may be we cant do much on ACPI enable or disable inorder to fix acpi errors on linux.  never mind.

but yes. my cpu supports vt.  i get error on linux boot ( kvm: disabled by bios).

now i m running linux on my laptop.  i dont have windows installed.
but u gave me exe file. i can only execute bios.exe file directly to auto run on windows.  but now i m running linux.

since i m on linux  i just need to make
1-bootable dos usb using HP tool .
2-with bios.bin file
3- and phlash.exe utility on it.
And type command   "  phlash bios.bin "  in dos.

EDIT:  i found R0231Q0.ROM file in unzipped folder.
so can i use .rom file instead of .bin file ???

so i will type command :  "  phlash R0231Q0.ROM "   using dos usb right?
Try running flash.bat as admin on windows environment .
SWinFlash.exe seems a update tool on windows.

what i am saying is i am running linux OS  not windows on my laptop.

To flash bios  can i make bootable usb with DOS 98. ??

and copy phlash.exe and bios.rom file on DOS usb.  and flash it using "  phlash bios.rom  " command ???

is it safe to flash ?   or do i really need windows to install on my laptop ??
I flashed using Dos usb .
I m getting this error in phlash16 utility

" Specified module not found in the rom or image."

May be vgn-cr11gh model is not mentioned in ur downloaded R0231Q0 bios file.
But i m using same bios version.

Anyways i tried with SMCMOS using nvram to enable vtx and its enabled now.

Many Thanks for your efforts.
