Hi everyone,

I am new to BIOS unlocking, but have updated BIOS before within windows and in the BIOS itself.

I was looking to allow 16gb ram and not 8gb ram, but reading more about the word "unlock" it seems to be more about getting rid of master passwords etc when the power down method doesnt work.

Please can you make a sticky post about what BIOS unlocking is, I couldnt find it in any of the sections (either not intuitive enough or just dont know)

Thanks and will submit a request in the other forum!
I could help you a bit. As far as I know unlocking bios is possibility to add/change hardware that is outside of the whitelist. For example in my case I would like to change the wifi card because my lenovo has a reaaly bad wifi speed and signal. I bought new Wifi card but computer won't start untill I change the bios for unlocked.
