Hi All,

I did a backup form the bios to FD file and was able to change the Bios Logos with the Insyde tool.
Now i wanted to flash the Bios back with H2OFFT Insyde tool but i'm getting always an error message:
Load File: File may not have an EC Rom

I saw already, the original Bios bin is about 800kb larger, so i think the EC Rom is included in this file.
Can someone help me to extract this from the original file and merge it with the modded Bios?

Or is there another way to do this? I've attached both files.

Thanks,
Thomas

Hi
I think you need a SPI-programmer Smile
Open the platform.ini file, scroll down to [UpdateEC] section, right beneath that header change flag=1 to flag=0, two lines below that set BIOS_Only=0 to BIOS_Only=1

Hi, thanks a lot for your help :-) I've tried the setting changes and now it goes one step further.
It stops now with another error: Warning: the new region BIOS(    0) not match with current (600000)
No bueno! I will look into it again later today and see if I can figure that out for you
Maybe your modified file is messed up, sounds like it based on that error "BIOS region (0) out of 600000"

Try flashing back the original .bin BIOS, not stock exe I just mean main .bin before you edited it, without any edit using this same method and edited ini file and see if it gives you same error or not.
If not, then you know there is a problem with your edited BIOS.

Hi, i did this already and get the same error with the dumped file.
If i just create a dump with Universal Bios Backup Utility and try to reflash it with the tool and get the same error.

Thanks
Ok, now i tried to backup the file with the Insyde Flash tool and the -g option.
When i try to reflash this file, i get the following error in the screenshot attached.
Ahh, so, same as Intel board. You need to use flash programmer to update when you see this. Unless you can find disable secure check in the ini file, I will look tonight.

Did you find any solution? Or would it be possible to use another flashtool?
Please link me to stock BIOS exe download, I can check again, I can't seem to find the file on my PC anymore
