I would like to ask, what type of CPU that is supported on ASUS K40AB laptop? The official ASUS say it supported up to Turion 64 X2 Ultra ZM-84, but does that mean it include the Engineering Sample CPU as well? I would like to buy
this to replace existing Athlon 64 X2 QL-64
The link to the BIOS is
here
Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance
theres no reference to Engineering Sample in the AGESA module where the supported cpu strings are so i would presume the answer is a no. However, the only way to be really sure would be to try it.
We can always try taking the microcodes out of a different bios that supports the engineering samples then replacing the microcode in your bios

I have a notebook K40AF with modified BIOS for videocard 216-0749001 and northbridge 216-0752001.After install cpu Turion II P540 his name "unknown model". Please help add processor support to BIOS.
Make & attach TXT-report of CPU-Z.
Its running!!! But... how? I trying with zero result... You are a wizard! Thank you so much!
This mod support only Turion II PXX cpu? Triple and quad cpu's did't work?
If you can boot with triple or quad CPU's then make new TXT-report of CPU-Z.
