It has been awhile since I have been on here and my T20 server has brought me back.

I tried putting an i5-4590 quad core cpu into my server and it would not boot.

The server has a dual core pentium and supports a quad core Xeon.

The i5-4950 has the same core/thread count as the xeon and the same TDP.

Would it be possible to add the cpu microcode for the i5 cpu to my Dell bios?

Post screenshots of first (CPU) & third (Mainboard) tabs of CPU-Z with supported CPU.
Tell sSpec of your i5-4590.
Make and post photos of your memory DIMMs.

All CPUs with Haswell core for LGA1150 use the same microcode. This BIOS has latest version of microcode.
Try to change DIMMs for other ones without ECC.
Try to use PCI-E graphics card.

You know.... I didn't actually think about that!

The i5-4590 doesn't support ECC and has a different iGPU.

Will try it soon! Thanks.

Whelp, I put in the i5-4950 and the machine posted. The hynix memory stick and the the display out work fine!
The only thing that I have changed is the latest A19 bios was recently flashed to the board.
I know for a fact that it would not post on older bios revisions.
