Hi it could not boot after download the mod bios

the power led is blinking, and the cpu fan is very loud.

do you have any idea? which setting will cause that?

Thank you
Did you verify after write? And then you restored your backup using same method and it was OK?
If yes, then likely BIOS is RSA signed internally and can't be modified.

verify after write: yes

I dump it as "TOSHIBA R30-A 5.10_1901182109M_dump.bin" and it is much different than "TOSHIBA R30-A 5.10_1901182109M.bin".

please check the attachment

after dump the no luck one, I restored the backup using same method, and it woks.

is the "RSA signed" only reason to this issue? or the one or more setting change will cause that?

could you mod some version for me?

1. "BIOS Lock and SMI Global Lock = Disabled" only, other as before
2. "One Of: Turbo Power Limit2 = Disable" only, other as before
3. "One Of: cTDP mode = Up" only, other as before

if any of them could work, there is no RSA signed, right?

BTW, what is "FD Unlocked" ?

thank you
Normally if you want to dump to compare after a write, you must do it before you start the system, many changes will occur once you start it. So if you want to compare like that and do not trust your verify after write, then you must do it again but get the dump to compare before starting the system

Yes, it could be one of the settings, possibly the "Hide special settings", we can try other BIOS with that one removed, all other settings would not have risk to cause this unless there is RSA checking at BIOS start (Which is normal for some laptops)

FD unlock is flash descriptor unlock, this allows you to flash regions via Intel FPT later instead of using your programmer, once it's programmed in.

"One Of: Turbo Power Limit2" set to "disable"
"One Of: cTDP mode" set to "Up"
"One Of: Hide Special Settings" set to "disable"
BIOS Lock and SMI Global Lock = Disabled

All those ^^ are same kind of edit, in same BIOS module, so if any edit would cause issue they all would individually too, unless it's that one "Special Settings" Let's remove that one, I was skeptical it would show you anything anyway.

Hi

the "TOSHIBA R30-A 5.10_1901182109M2.bin" is still no luck.

so is this laptop no way to mod the BIOS?
Is that last BIOS I sent you? If yes, then correct, BIOS is RSA signed and you cannot edit it, any change will result in failure to book/brick.
