Hi. I successfully modded the Phoenix (new style) BIOS of a HP Proliant ML110 G6 server, with new microcodes.

But it won't boot unsupported CPU.

I'm not talking about a better CPU but a worse one.

It does boot with a Core i7-860.

I does not boot with a Core i3-550.

The service and manteinance guide lists the Core i3-540 cpu as supported but not the -550.

As I said, I updated the microcodes. Is there any place in the BIOS where I should be looking for a list of supported CPUs?

Thanks.
Post screenshots of first (CPU) & third (Mainboard) tabs of CPU-Z with supported CPU.
Explain exactly what happens when you try to boot with your i3-550 CPU.

What happens is: When I put the i3-550, the board won't boot while there are this beep codes sequence: 1-1-1-2.

But with touching nothing more than swapping the CPU for the i7-860, the board boots fine.

Sometimes and I say: sometimes, the board does boot with the i3-550, but when I reboot it by software or turn in off and on again, it boots no more, with those beeps.

Also, this is what MCE gives before and after modding my BIOS:

What's in terms long & short beeps?

Make a screenshot of regedit with expanded key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0 when you can boot with your i3-550.
