Hello,

Can you Please help with a mod for a dell alienware area-51m laptop? The UEFI is gray and it can't be switched to legacy, also the computrace is enabled by default and I Cannot deactivate it. I'm new here and I don't really know if i need to give more information, not even how it works.
Thank you

Hi~~
Use this tool to backup current bios and attach it.(Run dump.bat as administrator)
I'll check if it's possible to unlock some sections.

do you think it will be possible to use a custom Bios as the A51m has secure flash? Or do i brick the notebook when flashing the custom one?
Hey Captn.KO,

I've been trying numerous tools on this bios myself and haven't really gotten anywhere. I can tell you that setup has the GUID 899407D7-99FE-43D8-9A21-79EC328CAC21 and that this bios cannot be modified with AMIBCP unless you have a version newer than the one I have (5.02.0031). Anyways, if you have any luck can you let me know what tools you use? Thanks in advance!

I can tell you this model only need to edit a little with hex editor then some tabs will show in bios screen, if it was me.

I've found a dump bios for this model form another site and checked it ,so i can confirm.

Hallo guys i am Baki , 33 years old, from Vienna.
I am interested in an Alienware 51m Bios that unlocks all hidden settings and OC options that are not visible.  Sleepy Big Grin
Or at least unlocked ram&cpu settings.

Such an Bios would make sooo many people out there realy happy.

God bless you all and thanks!
Any news on an unlocked BIOS? What I am mainly looking for is making the RAM run it's normal speed. The best BIOS to unlock for this laptop is version 1.5.0
You need an hardware spi programer to dump bios to edit on this model.
By user's feedback ,mod bios can't be reflash again by fpt even the bios lock variable was change.

And if your memory support xmp ,i think it would be run as xmp's speed.
This bios include xmp option ,you can try grub shell to changes variable of option "Memory profile"

Below is its offset and variable information from user provided bios ,it might be different yours.
Setting: Memory profile, Variable: 0xA65
Option: Default profile, Value: 0x0
Option: Custom profile, Value: 0x1
Option: XMP1, Value: 0x2
