Have this old, but still functioning PC with Intel DG41WV motherboard. Can someone unlock ability to use 8gigs of RAM?
I'm assuming you're gonna have to link a BIOS at some point. Do you know how to do that?
My bad Smile
you have to buy 4gb ram stick with 15x10 addressing 256mb x 8 x 8 x 2 ranks it's the only one that works.
those with 16x10 addressing 512mb or newer not work it is an hardware limit of this old chipset.
moreover g41 only supports 1066mhz ram speed, so on some cards that do not have the possibility in bios to select ram speed it is necessary to rewrite the ram spd by lowering it to a compatible one (usually ddr3 1600@1333 or 1066)
tested it works.
you can use the compatibility database distributed by thaiphoon burner to see which ram are 15x10 and 2ranks

Update spd rfc parameter fix (elpida default 160ns not boot, 110ns too low lower fsb to 266, 138ns fix overclock stable 321mhz).
thank you bro ...
