Hi,I am wanting to make my BIOS support Dell Inspiron 1420.I thought the CPU will downclock itself to 800FSB but it can't even boot.So is it possible here for someone to modified my bios to support the T9550 CPU?Note that the only thing that is incompatible is the FSB rate and CPU recognization by the BIOS and motherboard.

-BIOS link:https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-my/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=vgk0r
-What happens:It doesn't boot
-Screenshot from aida64>motherboard>cpuid:See the attachment
-CPU spec code:SLGE4

Thanks!
Post a screenshot with Mainboard tab of CPU-Z with supported CPU.
Did you modified your T9550?

Nope I didn't modified it.I just bought it online, thinking it can be supported.
The attachment is the screenshot while I don't know how to use CPU-Z to see supported CPU sorry.
Your laptop is based on GM965 chipset. It doesn't support FSB=1066 MHz.
T8100, T8300, T9300 and T9500 are recommended for upgrade this laptop.
To boot with T9550 you need to make difficult BSEL mod: 1066 -> 800

BTW: BSEL mod 1066 (266) -> 800 (200) is the same as 533 (133) -> 667 (166)

I can't understand what the pictures. Can you explain it?And if BSEL mod still can't support it will the old CPU still works ?It is because theorically T9550 and fit exactly into the GM965 socket. Thanks

To force using FSB=800 MHz with T9550 you need to connect two pads in the socket. Look at the first picture.
As a result T9550 will run at 2000 MHz.

Do you mean the two dark pads in the middle of the socket?Where can I find it?
Look at the first picture and find a wire bridge.

Oh,did you mean I should put a wire in these two holes like what I circled in the attachment?

Yes, I mean that. And than you need to install your T9550.
