Try this BIOS mod: R2110J7.zip
Since there is no official BIOS updates from Sony for this device, something is missing to install BIOS. I had to improvise so that the installer could accept the BIOS file. But it still might not work. So don't be surprised if the program throws an error and just let me know what the result is.
Hey Max, so I tried it and I get the error saying that the bios image to be flashed is the same as the one I have installed so flashing will not continue.

At least the program recognizes the file. Version check error code is 80B. I've patched it, so you can re-download the archive and try again.
ok...it's reading old and new bios but now i'm getting error -104 checksum failed...see screenshot attached.

And again.
windows froze at the flash new bios step.  had to do a hard reboot, thankfully it didn't get bricked, entered bios at startup and nothing has changed.

I'll look for any relevant information about this on the internet.

EDIT: Now with WinPhlash 1.4 build 8130 updated to 11100 and log enabled. I doubt that this time everything will go smoothly, but it will be interesting to check the log file.
See attached log file.
Okay, it's all good with the software part of WinPhlash. Driver error indicates incompatibility with the current firmware's interface.
I'm hoping for compatibility with further gen BIOS installer. Maybe your BIOS is configured to work particularly with it, but it's not known for sure.
From this point I'm running out of ideas.
