Hi.
I recently tried upgrading my laptop's cpu from celeron b800 to core i5 2450m with no success, laptop won't turn on. The chipset is a hm65 and someone told me it won't even support a core i3 so i returned the core i5. Since the socket and chipset are compatible with core i5 and core i7 cpu's I think the problem is in the Bios but I already have the latest bios available for this model from toshiba https://content.us.dynabook.com/content/...2ev130.exe
So now i'm wondering if it is possible to somehow modify the Bios to add support for a more powerful sandy bridge processor.
Any help would be greatly appreciated :B
Post a screenshot with Mainboard tab of CPU-Z.
Did you test your i5-2450M with other laptop?

Thank you for replying. I did not have the opportunity to test the 2450m on another cpu but the seller told me it was working, after that I just returned it.
Current BIOS already has support for this CPU - https://browser.geekbench.com/v3/cpu/8432636
So I think it was dead.
That's probably right, then i will try with a different cpu. Just one thing, there are a lot of different models for the satellite C655, do you think the bios is the same for all of these models?
