Hi all,

I just got a Acer Aspire M3400 with a Phenom II X6 1055T because it was really cheap...

I know i'm supposed to provide a version of the ROM.... but I seriously doubt that there are "locked" items in the BIOS.

I would like to get pointed in the right direction of getting the full functionality of my board and chipset.

Added info:
CPUZ shows that its a 880G Chipset.

1. The on board gfx have been disabled (physical connector is present, no option in BIOS)
2. Not sure if Hybrid X-fire could be used with the 880G chipset
3. Overclocking options are not availble in the BIOS

Is there a way I can use another boards BIOS or the boards manufacturer's BIOS?

Thanks in advance!!
Firstly i deleted your second request as it was on the wrong section!

Secondly , Acer doesn't have a downloadable bios so please use this utility to create a backup of your current bios for us to look at

I hope it helps!

haha okay thanks.

But say if I have really no regard for this mobo anymore, Should i even attempting to try and flash it with a BIOS of say a similar spec-ed board?

Say if this is an OEM gigabyte board and I use a rom from a similar board, what are the chances of getting it to work?

Sorry if its a stupid question.

Hey,

I actually think this is a good suggestion. There are some OEM boards that are really versatile in their chipset and can easily use a retail BIOS. If you want, start with a list of motherboards that have the same chipset and we can narrow it down for you.

Thanks,
