I have attempted to upgrade the CPU in my all-in-one Gateway zx-4800. After swapping the system spins up, no post, then turns off which I assume is a sign that the system has rejected the CPU. Couple of different issues: I can't find the bios anywhere, the FSB for the t4400 and t9900 are different (800mhz vs 1066mhz) The CPU definitely fits in the socket, I'm not that stupid. But am I stupid for even trying? Could this be possible? Help would be greatly appreciated.
Mainboard is Intel GL40 chipset rev 09, Southbridge 82801M (ICH9-M) rev 03.
BIOS version is P01-B0 (american megatrends)
Your laptop is based on GL40 without support of FSB=1066 Mhz. So you can't use your T9900.
T8100, T8300, T9300 and T9500 are recommended.
