Hello there,

I've recently purchased a modest CPU upgrade for my Lenovo m90p USFF, but upon
installing the CPU, I am greeted with a black screen, even though I've taken steps to
ensure I did everything correctly. Placing back the original CPU allows the system to
boot normally.

The original CPU in question is i5-650, the upgrade is i5-661, with the spec code SLBNE.

The list of supported CPUs by this machine according to Lenovo's support website is:

Intel® Pentium® Processor G6950 with dual-core
Intel Core® Processor i3-530 with dual-core
Intel Core® Processor i3-540 with dual-core
Intel Core® Processor i5-750 with quad-core
Intel Core® Processor i5-650
Intel Core® Processor i5-660
Intel Core® Processor i5-670 with dual-core

However, since the motherboard, Lenovo IQ57I, is based on Intel's Q57 Express chipset, I had
hoped it would work, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Would it be possible to add support for this CPU? The BIOS in question is versioned 5JKT65A
and can be downloaded here:

I'm also attaching CPU-Z screenshots.

Thanks and Best Regards
Did you check your i5-661 with other motherboard?

Unfortunately I have no other compatible motherboards to test it with. I mean, I guess it's possible the CPU is bad ... I just find it unlikely.
I think it's not BIOS issue.
Could it be an ME issue?
I don't think so.
At first check your i5-661.
