Sorry , can you please find an AMI bios that contains the processor support you need as its hard to move microcodes out of the compressed format in Award bioses to use in AMI - much easier to move from AMI to AMI
Thanks , we havent forgotten you , i think this post ay have been skipped over in our daily answering of requests

Are you able to use a motherboard from a close chipset (ie : SiS 671FX) ? How can I know if the BIOS if from American Megatrends ? There doesn't seem to be any other motherboard other than this Foxconn that supports Wolfdale processors... is it nearly-impossible to use the Foxconn's BIOS to add the microcode ? Because if it's possible, I think this is the only way... will you be able to do this ?
Thanks in advance !
Now, after hours of research, I can determine that the Foxconn motherboard is the only SiS671 motherboard that supports Wolfdales... now the question is, even if there is a difficulty in "translating" the micro-code, can you still do it ? Can you use a BIOS from a motherboard using the 671FX/672 chipset and use the microcode from there ? I really need to get that E5400 working on my motherboard...
Thank you for your input !
Yes we can certainly give that a try , the microcodes are identical - they dont change at all regardless of chipset!
Please post a link containing support that is the same type of bios (AMI/Award)

Two more questions : how can I figure what motherboards have AMI chipsets (or Award for that matter) ? And does the fact that my computer boots with the CPU increase my chances ?
AMI BIOSes end in the .ROM extension and Award BIOSes end in the .BIN extension. Tthe fact that your computer boots with it means its probably compatible, but its loading an irregular microcode to boot it.

Here is a link to the ASUS P5K-E latest BIOS, based on Intel's P31 chipset/Socket 775... Tell me if you can use it, and give me news (and how to flash my motherboard with the custom BIOS, I seldom flashed even with the regular BIOSes...)
Thanks in advance !
we have a problem , that asus bios has 39 microcodes and yours only has 15 but not enough free space!
need to work out which microcodes are relevant - may take a while
Please be patient
