Mod Complete Smile (A8JS GeForce Go 7700 -> 9650M GT (retaining Go7700 support)

In the end, I needed to use : Asus A8JS main AMI Bios, M50V 9650M GT graphics card from ebay, and N50Vn VGA Bios (this has 1440x900 LCD panel).

The M50 VGA Bios didn't work (only worked on external VGA output to monitor), however, the N50 VGA BIOS worked (i'm typing this on the laptop now, with the 9650M GT card installed). It might just be the fact that I used 'nibitor' to set 'Use Non Native Panel' for the N50 BIOS that made the difference, but, it works Smile

I will post it up in the confirmed mods section later (once I have tested it for about a week).

Later, I will make an A8JR VGA upgrade BIOS, once I get a new card for that one!

Hi, I'm a new user! I found this interesting thread through google.
I have an Asus M50Vc with a GeForce 9300m GS installed and i'd like to upgrade this notebook with the 9650m Gt model ( http://cgi.ebay.it/Asus-M50-N80-9650M-GT...230b750358 ) or the 9700m GT model ( http://cgi.ebay.it/Asus-G50-G70-M50-9700...1c16ecec12 ).

The ebayer says that both the cards are supported by all M50 series...

In your opinion is that true or not? Could I upgrade my nothebook without mod the bios?

Thank you and sorry for my imperfect english!

Hi! My A8JS's Go7700 broken recently. I searched eBay.hk and only found 9600M GS
Does your BIOS (for 9650GT) also support 9600M? Thanks in advance!
Hi guys,
is this topic alive yet? Shy
jommoner and TheWiz, I need your advise. I have Asus M50Sa mobo, the latest BIOS and ATI HD3650 installed. Recently I bought Nvidia GTX 260M from Asus G60Vx. Via MMTOOL I extracted PCI Option ROM for 260M from G60Vx BIOS and inserted it into M50Sa BIOS. Flashed -> intstalled 260M -> POST -> Checking NVRAM -> something else very fast and I got this message:
"No physical memory is available at the location required for the Windows Boot Manager. The system can not continue".

I tried to reset NVRAM, to change RAM sticks (basically I use 2x4 Gb RAM) - message the same.
As you can see I didn't delete old PCI Option ROMs from my BIOS, because I thought there will be no problem if I just copy and past the new one (due to dynamically compression of all BIOS in the end of saving via MMTOOL). So, can it be the problem? Or should I search for another PCI Option ROM for 260M from another mobo?
Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone,

I have a little problem I hope you can help me. I have a Asus A8Js with a Geforce Go 7700 (broken), I bought a Geforce Go 7300 to make my laptop works at least, the problem is that I want to install the BIOS posted here (http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-AS...-VGA-cards) using WinFlash but the program don't let me do anything 'cause I have the latest BIOS version (2.13). I would like to know if there is another way to install the file. Could the file works with Go 7300? What can I do to solve this problem?

Sorry for al the questions and thanks a lot for everythings.

Regards.

Well, finally I could update to a modified BIOS I found here and listed above, but BIOS don't recognize the video card, this beeps constantly when I turn on the laptop. When I put the old video card all looks good and system boots normally. What can I do now?

Thanks a lot for your help.
