Hi! I've been trying to unlock the hidden options in my BIOS for a couple of days now, reading lots of threads and downloading as many apps as possible. The farthest I've gotten so far is I've been able to extract the modules (I'm not sure that's the name) from the .rom file and I've loaded the System BIOS file (P5LP-LE.bin) using modbin v4.50.60 and many others (though not modbin6 since it throws "version is not 6.0"). The thing is when I get to the part where I think I could enable the hidden features, I get this:

I am clearly not an expert on the matter so I would really appreciate any suggestion. All I want is to unlock some options such as Memory Reamp and the ability to enable AHCI.

Thank you in advance for your time.

PC: Pavilion w5180.es (>>specs<<).

Motherboard name: LakePort-P5LP-LE-00

BIOS: Phoenix - Award v6.00pg

Files:
>>SPLITAWD.EXE and a couple of other tools

>>modbin v4.50.80c + 317.rom + P5LP-LE.BIN (that I extracted using SPLITAWD.EXE)
Welcome to the forums!

Please use this tool to backup your BIOS image and attach it to your reply post.

Also, modbin 4.5 is for the old award core, so all those funky characters are simply because your trying to load a v. 6 core BIOS in a 4.5v editor program.

Thank you!

I've attached the back-up to this message.

About modbin, I understand what you say since my BIOS "is" 6.00 but when I run modbin6 I get "Version is not 6.0". That's why I tried with older versions.

Thanks again!!
Interesting , there is actually a v5.23 here for this board:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...pv-60348-1&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en

And also a v3.19 which definately looks like an update to the one you have now (v3.17)

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...pv-54482-1&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en

Only different between these is that v5.23 required Vista and v3.19 requires XP.

If your running Vista i strongly recommend trying v5.23 as it has CPU microcode updates and a few fixes in there Smile

I appreciate your help. Unfortunately, I run both updates (one under Windows XP Pro 32 and the other one under Windows 7 Ultimate 64) and got this error:

Apparently there are several boards called P5LP-LE but each one with a different "nick" or whatever. Mine is called "Lithium".

Thank you very much anyway. This forum is amazing. I got 2 replies so far and I signed up LAST NIGHT!!
I still haven't found a solution and I am willing to pay to have this done. I don't have much money but I could offer $100 to whoever unlocks every hidden feature in my BIOS.

Thanks in advance.
Sos far nothing yet, I've only been able to extract the ROMs in your BIOS, but none of my tools are opening it either.

This might be the latest... An Asus-technician told me it is!
I will try to disassemble the package as you can also try to get the correct BIOS to flash directly with awdflash under DOS....
