I can help you out and check what exact video cards your laptop supports. Please upload your bios or give a direct link. Asus A8 series laptop should support all reverse MXM II cards but maybe you will need to mod your bios first.
Hi! I've a problem with my replacement 7700 to 9650m GT. I'm done with success replacement cards, bios and drivers and everything is ok but DVI out is not working. Before the card change, both the DVI and D-sub work excelent and at the moment only D-sub is active but digital monitor completly not detect. Is it due to the fact that the 9650M GT is equipped only with support D-sub without DVI? How can I solve this problem? Maybe a BIOS update? Please help.

If you want you can try my bios update for A8js. I used jommoner bios and updated VGA bios in it to version 62.94.75.0C. Maybe this will help you. Try also new nvidia drivers but if you want to use them please remember to disable powermizer because it makes random black screen freeze and restarts your laptop. Good luck

HI. Thank you for your reply. I have used the bios which You sent. Unfortunately it did't resolve my problem. One thing that has improved is the scalling bios starting but now it does not even boot the notebook LCD. Works only D-Sub connector. Under windows I can run it on. Without a connected external monitor does't have a image anywhere. DVI is still dead. After changing cards on the go7700, all external sockets are working perfectly. Go9650gt didn't work with DVI. Maybe some another update?

I am follow this great forum with very interest because I am also a owner of a Asus A8js with nvidia geForçe7700 512mb dedicated
But now unfortnaly the video card goes!
I know my bios is the last version for A8js version 213 oficial bios from Asus site
It is possible know if, can I upgrade the bios after I install the GE forçe 9650M GT

I know the thread is old but I got an Asus VX2 with af Go7700 I would like to upgrade to GeForce 9650M GT too. I have the GeForce 9650M GT but I get a black screen when trying so I think I need a BIOS upgrade. Can you help?
