I have done some more research and it seems that you can update the microcode separately from the bios on fujitsu-siemens motherboards. Check this link http://support.ts.fujitsu.com/Download/S...DBA8131FE7

Maybe this is all that is needed??
To answer my own question in the previous post. No that was not all that was needed. I updated the microcode and still no core 2 duo support.
This is one tricky system!

However , that download that you linked to is only for Pentium II / III and 4 systems - no dual core support in there

I managed to discover a more up to date one though , and using the microcode collections i had available , cobbled this together for you to try out Wink

Patch the same way as you did with the other version. This version includes all microcodes up to 2009 (Just about wont fit on a floppybut its in a bootable CD format Big Grin)

Try at your own risk , i look forward to hearing your results

Thank you very mouch I will try this as soon as I get home from work.
Tried the microcode update last night and it was a no go. Seems that it will only install updates for the installed cpu. And since the computer wont start with the core 2 duo it's impossible to install the microcode update. So when I try to install the update with my pentium D cpu it always says that my micrcocode is up to date.
ah well im truely lost now :S

Will let you know if i get anywhere

I have the same problem, is there any progress so far running a c2d cpu on the D2151-A1 Mobo??

can u tell me how to flash the bios without usb, diskette and cd-rom . I installed deskflash but it needs windows xp or under when I tried the compatibly with windows xp it still shows me the error
A few facts for this zombie thread:

* A bios update is not enough to run Conroe cores in this mobo. Complicated hardware mods are required.
* [flashrom] supports this mobo for flashing bioses not intended for the board revision, but you need to unpack them from OCF files via Veit Kannegieser's snipac decompressor.
* A2,S2 bioses run fine but provide no benefit over the A1 bios without hardware modifications so if you're expecting to run Conroe cores with just a simple bios update you're out of luck.
* Pinmodding is necessary to the cpu itself to even get the system to POST and afterwards you'll still need to modify the clock generator portion of the mobo to get rid of what will be a severe underclock. All in all: Not worth it. Just get a Conroe compatible mobo (they should be pretty cheap now) and sell the A1.
Hello there! I am new to this forum. In fact I registered just because I wanted to ask something in this particular topic Smile I am currently trying to run a Pentium D 3.4Ghz cpu on a D2151 i945 motherboard. I put the CPU in and I started the fsc esprimo p5905 and everything seemed normal. Then I hear 2 beeps get an ERROR! message saying :
2 Logical cpu(s) installed
ERROR
Patch for installed CPU not loaded. Please run the BIOS flash update diskette.
and the following options:
F1 to Resume.
F2 to Setup.

So what I did was to download the bios version D2151-A1 1.11 (before it was 1.08) and I flashed the BIOS. After the process was over I thought that was it. But I still get the same message...

What should I do next? Should I try a different BIOS version? Where can I find more of those? Should I try the microcode compilation the administrator made? How should I proceed? Thank you in advance Smile
