The text is translated by bing translator. I have a motherboard asus P5VD2-MX bios 1017, but unfortunately buying a VGA PCI-E MSI NV210 MD512H I saw that the card is not compatible on post bios. Booting the machine employs eight minutes, the text flows per second letter by letter, you may modify your BIOS to increase compatibility with this card? The problem occurs only at the bios post, otherwise it works perfectly in windows. This page contains the latest video card bios if needed (http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/63352...0909.html)

Thanks Simone

Sorry for the multiple posts, but I didn't know where to point my problem, you can solve this problem? Anyone knows an expert who can do the reverse engineer of bios and add compatibility for this video card? Thank you all again for the support
Hello. I too have the same problem of Simone. I bought a video card MSI VN210 MD512H and I mounted it on a motherboard ASUS P5VD2-MX. The POST BIOS is very slow. The writings of post bios appear letter by letter, post bios screen takes about 10 minutes to complete. When Windows starts up, past the 10 minutes the video card works without problems. I contacted ASUS for explain my problem. They said that it is a well known problem of incompatibility between the video card bios firmware and bios firmware on the motherboard. They told me to periodically check their site, but the ASUS has not released for some years a new update for the motherboard P5VD2-MX, it is now out of support. Unfortunately, both the motherboard and the video card have the latest bios update. Is it possible to have a modified bios firmware to resolve this huge problem? Thank you very much for your attention. I look forward to news.

Yours sincerely.

Luca
It's a known issue with the older VIA chipsets and PCI-e rev2.0 cards. Mainboard BIOS update won't correct the problem, a VGA BIOS update will.

Thank you for the reply. If I understand correctly, an updated bios firmware for the graphic card should fix the problem, right? Huh If so, can I ask if you can get a mod bios for this video card? Otherwise, there would be an alternative solution? Thanks for your patience.Shy
As far as I know, this can't be modded by the end user, so contacting MSI support is necessary. Ask them for a GEN1 VGA BIOS - one that forces the card to be PCI-e rev1.0 compliant, as older VIA chipsets are poorly designed with future SATA/PCI-e in mind.
Hello. I tried changing the bios graphic card firmware with that of another manufacturer (PNY) but the problem is not solved. The post bios screen keeps loading letter by letter. At this point, I think the problem is not due to the version of the video card bios. At this point, it seems obvious that the problem is not due to the version of the video card bios. I do not understand why ASUS keeps telling me that I must contact the manufacturer of my graphic card. I am convinced that this problem can be solved if I could use my PCI Express slot as 1.0 instead of 2.0. NVIDIA told me to try to change this option, because the bios of my motherboard may not recognize exactly the standard video card. The problem is that: the bios of my motherboard (1017 - ASUS P5VD2-MX) will not allow me to edit this option. NVIDIA told me that the problem must be solved by a motherboard bios firmware upgrade from ASUS, but the motherboard P5VD2-MX is out of support since 2007. Please, it would be possible to have a bios firmware mod that allows me to see more options to set the PCI Express slot? If that is not possible, you would have to propose alternative solutions to try to solve this problem? Please help me... Thank you very much for attention.
As I already told you - contact MSI and ask for a GEN1 VGA BIOS. Flashing BIOS from another card is not guaranteed to work, since little to none new cards come with GEN1 BIOS by default. Nvidia is only the chip manufacturer, so contacting MSI - the graphic card vendor - is a must. This motherboard does not have support for PCI-e rev2.0 cards - that's what the problem was in the first place.
Thanks for your reply. I followed your advice, I wrote to MSI. I explained my problem and I wrote him if they can give me a firmware Gen1 for that graphics card. Now I await the answer then I will let you know. For now, thank you very much Smile
