I was wondering if anyone had unlocked the oclock capabilities that were available in the pre-production models as well as the packard bell imax mini nettop had (same brand).

Well I searched across the web and found the original ion pre-production bios rom file (8C8A1D02.ROM) here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6BVCOFPE

I tried booting this rom and it had a different ID but booted anyways. It booted up but I got a death blank black screen. **DO NOT USE 8C8A1D02.ROM on Acer Aspire R1600 Ion LE or u will get just a blank black screen (u will here it boot but that's it; NO SCREEN)**

Luckily I had the Acer official rom file (963A1P06.ROM) from their site : http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/...6693667682&Step1=DESKTOP&Step2=ASPIRE&Step3=ASPIRE%20R1600&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_7

I blindly reflashed the original bios file thru dos boot usb key with AFUDOS. THANK GOD.

I am assuming that the older bios file had some coding for normal ION and not the ION LE like on the Aspire Revo R1600. It has an Intel Atom 230 HT and ION LE.

Does anyone here know how to compare the two rom files and figure out how to make the older rom with oclock features work with the newer rom or just make the old rom work (no deathscreen) with the R1600 Ion LE??

Thank you ahead of time for any assists.

Sorry but theres no overclocking options hidden , just a couple of temperature readouts and something to disabled the onvboard usb (although why you would want to im not sure!)

Sorry

" Hi,

I got the 230 atom working at 2,3 Ghz like a charm, beating 330 and N270 latest OC!

Done on a stock P-Bell IMAX mini with D02 early bios that came with the REVO 2Q2009.
