I have an HP mini 1035nr. I bought a BCM94322 (802.11n) to replace the BCM94312 (802.11g), and, of course my netbook gave the dreaded '104-Unsupported wireless' error.

I've been searching and I CANNOT find a modded BIOS (that removes the wifi whitelist). Can someone help me with this?

My BIOS is located here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/previ...ob-83458-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=228&product=3832534&sw_lang=

The latest BIOS version is: 361A0F15.
Can anyone help me here?
Anyone?

Can't you just remove the whitelist entirely, as per: this thread or this thread (I cant figure out how to get the .fd file)?

The current card is a Broadcom BCM94312 (PCI\VEN_14e4&DEV_4315) and the new one is a Broadcom BCM94322.
I'm not sure what the BCM94322's device ID is, as I can't put it in my netbook and find out. It may be PCI\VEN_14e4&DEV_432b, but that's just from googling, I don't know for sure. (How can I get its device ID short of putting into my other laptop?)
We did some successful whitelist-removings but the procedure is still a little buggy and the risk to brick the BIOS/Board is too big. another problem is that we still are not able to disassemble Insyde wich makes this even more dificult. We need the old IDs to locate the whitelist and the new to be able to replace if the whitelist removal does not work... I believe the VEN is the same as it is also a broadcom-card but the DEV is depending on your system. If it is possible you should boot up your HP Mini 1000 and change the card when Windows is up. There you can find the dev-id...

You can hot-swap PCIe cards? I'd rather not boot it up with it opened, though. I can put it in my laptop to get the dev id.

Can you tell me how to do this myself? I can hex edit the file, I just don't know how to get the .fd (or .ROM file).

P.S. My HP Mini 1000 runs OS X Snow Leopard :-P
P.P.S. I don't have the BCM94322 on me now, it's at my college apartment. I won't be there until the 2nd.
hello,

i think you are in the wrong way, this bios is not Insyde but AMI.

here is the method your are searching for whitelist mod of a HP mini 1000

OK, sorry... I did a short hex and now I see "AMI /_|| inside" is not Insyde... Wink Big Grin
So, can I fully remove the whitelist on this AMI bios, or do I have to enter in the exact device ID of my new wifi card?
Also, how can I extract the .fd file (or .ROM) file from the .exe file? That's where I was getting stuck.
