My Hp A6347c computers Nettle2 motherboard needed to be changed as the second memory slot went bad.
I installed the new motherboard which displayed Compaq instead of HP.
However Windows 7 would not boot up, so I updated the bios with the one on this site. I still can't get Win 7 to boot.
In normal boot it hangs on Starting Windows (glowing logo). In safe mode it hangs at classpnp.sys. If I use the system repair or the Dvd install disk for Win 7, it hangs at the glowing windows logo.
I have tried "turn off driver signing", "debugging mode" , it still will not boot.
I got it to boot once in debugging mode, it installed a bunch of drivers, asked to restart and will not boot again.
What can anyone suggest I try.
I have done chkdsk /f and r using UBC4win.
Boot from the installation disc and run the "Startup Repair" wizard , it will scan for and fixc any issues that may prevent the system from booting

Is this Windows 7 activated via slic? Isn't this Windows depended on its Hardware it was once installed on? I may be wrong but my windows 7 did almost the same after flashing the biostar-BIOS on my MCP61PM-AM-board! I installed with the original BIOS of the Acer Aspire E380. So it is possible that you can run Windows 7 the right way after flashing the original HP-BIOS... I think this is also worth a try! Good luck!
When using the installation DVD it hangs on start up logo.
After flashing the bios it no longer has the slic.
