Heres my own mod:-

Here you go , i used Dell 2.1 SLIC + Certificate Included:-

1. Copy and paste ******.XRM-MS certificate file into C-Drive.

2. After pasting this file into C-Drive, go to START - ALL PROGRAMS - ACCESSORIES - COMMAND PROMPT. Right click on Command Prompt and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

3. When Command Prompt opens, type at the prompt: slmgr.vbs -ilc c:\********.xrm-ms and hit the Enter Button. Wait for the Script Host to answer you with a message that the license was installed successfully....this could take a few minutes and so be patient.

4. After receiving the message that the license was installed successfully, type at the command prompt:

slmgr.vbs -ipk *****-*****-*****-*****-***** (Replace with any OEM SLP Product Key for your installed version of Windows 7 , they are not hard to find).Be Patient and wait for the message to say that the Product Key was successfully installed. After it says successfully installed, reboot the computer.

5. When you are back at your desktop, go to START - COMPUTER - right click on Computer and choose PROPERTIES and see if it is activated with an OEM product ID.

Please note that all T3400 BIOS's starting with A09 (released late 2009) have had SLIC 2.1 already inserted by Dell. There's no need to mod the BIOS.

I know this is a 5 year old thread but I will take my chances. I need a BIOS (any BIOS) for the DELL Dimension T3400. I transferred a legitimate fully activated dual boot Windows 7 and 10 system from a similar (but older) Dell Precision 390 and while on the A08 BIOS the T3400 upon booting into Windows 7 gave me a black desktop and the usual non-genuine warning, so Windows 10 did not activate either. Then I downloaded from Dell the A014 BIOS and installed with no problem. Still not activated. I checked with SLIC toolkit and I get the error that a SLIC is not present at all! So the claim that all BIOS post A09 include a SLIC 2.1 is not correct. So basically, I some how need to insert the correct SLIC to get back into activation mode again. Any ideas please!?! (if possible please email me directly to R1100RA(at)gMail(dot)com) Thank you VERY MUCH !!!
The statement about BIOS's past A09 having SLIC 2.1 is correct but there may be something else going on.  Was your T3400 an "N" series system which dd not come with a Microsoft operating system?  If so then Dell disabled the ability for Microsoft OS's to automatically activate.  If that is the case there there is a dell utility you can run to to re-enable the automatic activation.  Try this link for more info:  https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=6&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiclJXRmLDUAhVLzIMKHVpVBogQFghRMAU&url=ftp%3A%2F%2Fcap69-2-82-241-214-252.fbx.proxad.net%2Fprogram%2FDell%2FDell-Latitude-D430%2FBios%2FPack_SvcTag%2BAsset%2FHow-Bios-Reset-Mode.txt&usg=AFQjCNEg6jijVa2JYVhbX25GtkQXG7yYwA&sig2=SOeKzlGyQyvuMw2qx8ci5g
jmsandrsn , thanks for the reply. The short story is that I had it figured out on my own, somehow the SLIC marker was not enabled in that particular T3400 mobo that I purchase. Like I said it came with the A08 BIOS and SLIC toolkit showed no presence of ANY slic marker. It could have been a "N" series but I have no way of knowing. All I know is that after installing a valid windows 7 dell OEM license it still showed no presence of a slic marker. But running some commands and putting the motherboard into factory mode and re-insterting the same service tag, then the slic appeared. So I am not sure what's going on but saying that post A09 BIOS Dell includes the 2.1 slic is not my experience. Actually, the fact that it was not showing a SLIC 2.1 after I installed a fully legitimate win7 OS on the A14 BIOS is proof that something else is going on that more knowledgeable people than me could/should document. Still thank you for responding and sending me a direct email, it came after the fact but it confirmed the procedure I used to solve the problem. Thanks again!
