Hi,

I have an ASUS Z53M with an AMI BIOS. The processor currently installed is an AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-50 which is too slow for me, so I bought a faster one, the AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-64, and installed it in the notebook.
When I start the computer now, the quiet famous Asus message: "****** Warning: Unknown Processor Revision ****** The processor installed in your system are of an unknown revision" appears, and other text about contacting my BIOS vendor, blabla.
So I searched on Google for this problem and stumbled on this site, which seems very interesting.
The installed BIOS is the newest. Another guy in some other forum also had this problem and contacted ASUS about this problem already. They said, there won't be a newer version of the BIOS for this Notebook.
Is it possible to mod this BIOS so the TL-64 would work in my notebook?
And if yes, is there somebody who would do it?

As an zipped attachement, I have the currently installed BIOS.

Thanks in advance!
Yours sincererly

Jonnsta
Hi Jonnasta,

Tthere is a possibility we can add the proper microcode, I will look into this.

Thanks,

Wow, thank you very much.

But the situation has changed: I gave the TL-64 back, but instead I have a TL-66 (TMDTL66HAX5DM) with CAA8G, http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/AMD-Tur...AX5DM.html.

Does it work this new one too?
Hi had to register for this thread..

I have same situation then op
my laptop is asus f3m (with sempron 3400+)
and the same cpu turion tl-64 TMDTL64HAX5DC

Can i use this modded Bios? as this uses same ami bios and the need for cpu support is the same?

ty for infos for advantage
Njah i tryed it out and didnt work neither it broke anything tho Big Grin

Isit even possible to make bios that would work for me?
Hello everyone, my first thread here.

The notebook in question is Asus F3M, which gave me the "unknown revision" warning when I replaced old Sempron 3400+ (SMS3400HAX3CM, rev. F2) with Turion 64 X2 TL-60 (TMDTL60HAX5DC, rev. G1). It recognizes the new cpu correctly (2 GHz, 2 cores...) but after the "unknown revision" message, system halts.

I suppose that rev. F2 Turions would work fine, but G1 is 65nm so I'd love to use this TL-60. Is it possible for someone to add support for it, by using the microcode from some newer Asus notebook? I attached F3M's original BIOS file (btw it's the last official update).

Thank you very much.

Hello, I know it's 2021 already but is there ANY chance I could receive this Z53M microcoded BIOS file? I need it a lot ..... Is such a miracle even possible?
