yeah i saw that but apparently that bios update is for this motherboard:
P5LP-LE (Leonite2):
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum...=c01080268&tmp_track_link=ot_recdoc/c00864946/en_us/c01080268/loc:1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us

whereas my motherboard is this one:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum...=c00864946&tmp_track_link=ot_recdoc/c01080268/en_us/c00864946/loc:1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us

the only difference i can see is that the leonite 2 has 1 pci-e x1 slot instead of a normal PCI slot in the leonite (1). but this would be good because it supports up to cure 2 duo =D, i wonder if this works =D, i wonder if this can be used to support quad core CPUs, that would be great =D

also when i look on the HP support website using my PC model hp lavilion a1620.uk , the highest BIOS update it comes up with is the 3.19 update.
Not to be the daredevil but I think your best shot would be to see if the Leonite2 BIOS works. If there is a removable chip I will cover any failures under our Chip Reprogramming service. If you proceed, I recommend using the flashing procedure described on our BIOS Update page.

Thanks,

I don't think quad-core processor will work on this computer since there is no quad-core processor listed as compatible with Intel 945G chipset. The correct course of action right now is to get a processor you want to upgrade to & try it out on your computer. If you know anyone who willing to loan the processor to you, that would be great. There are three scenarios will be expected:-
  1. Computer turn ON but no boot - blank screen
    - This happen if the processor is not supported. No fix/solution for this.
  2. Computer turn ON, booting but get microcode update error message
    - This require simple fix which is add new microcode to support the processor.
  3. Computer turn ON & booting normally
    - No fix needed.
I have a hp a1726x computer that comes with a Asus P5LP-LE leucite3 motherboard. I have bios version 5.03 and wanted to update to 5.23. The 5.23 bios update does not update. I think it is made for the Asus P5LP-Le leonite2 motherboard. The 5.23 update adds support for the Intel Core 2 duo e6x00 series of processors. I just got an Intel core 2 duo e6700 and I wanted to know if yourll can just add the microprocessor code to the 5.03 bios and I can reinstall that bios with the support added. My computer came with a pentium D 915. If anybody knows how i could do this or at least point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. I live in Dallas TX, Is there anyone I could nearby that could help me.

Here are some links

Ok so it installed using winflash and i clicked on update all,it went threw and installed. it worked with the old chip, but with the e6700, it was just a black screen, if there is anything else that could be done, please let me know.
sorry to bring this thread back but its looks like the P5LP-LE leucite3 boards cannot handle Core 2 duos, even with the "ported" microcodes from a bios made for a different version of the P5LP-LE board like the Leonite. the VRMs (aka. voltage regulator modules from older P5LP-LE boards) cannot properly handle the C2Ds
