I've flashed the new modded bios, coming from A09. Everything worked as intended. My 840qm now is running flawlessly @5% overclock, no OV needed.

You guys definetly make my day!

Is there a way to control GPU fan speed behavior vs Temperatures as per the CPU?
Updated From A10 to A10 modded, running on Core i7 740QM (1,73ghz) with 5% Overclock. Working just fine. The Core frequency is running 140,3Mhz vs. 133 Mhz standard. Epic Big Grin

But could anyone please make a list of what some or all the new settings available does, as some of them are lacking info ? Smile
Hi XereX,

Glad everything is working OK. We are going to write a PDF explaining everything ASAP. I will add it to the first post when it's complete.

Curious,

did you fix the OC not sticking after sleep issue that is present in the current dell stock bios?

Also hoping to add my request to add custom memory timings to a future revision (the main thing I would REALLY like)

Great work

Hey Wiz, whenever you're ready to test either Memory overclocking (or XMP profiles) or GPU support, I could be of some assistance, as I have an XMP ready set of memory modules and a currently unsupported GPU (Radeon 6970M). I just have to figure out where i'm going to install XP in the computers I have access to...lol!
ichime,

I just installed xp on a spare partition on an old usb hard drive I have.
It is a bit slow loading, but since I only used it to make the recovery media it is not an issue.
(you could also do the same on any type of usb stick, separate partition etc..)

Nice! Didn't know you can run XP off a USB stick nowadays

Yeah, it doesn't work fully though. The fan speeds are stuck at one speed (same thing that happened when I tried to install a GTX 460M) and the picture can become pixelated and distorted along with constant driver crashes. I did get it to render furmark at one point, so its not a dead or bad GPU. I even tried changing the VBIOS by changing the subvendor ID to Dell (the original was Clevo) but that didn't work. When the R3's 6970M comes out, I'll ask someone to rip their VBIOS so I can try reflashing that to see if I can make any progress.

Hi theWiz, any news on next release?

Thank you in advance
