Hey!
I know, this motherboard have old chipset. But, can you add more cpu-support this motherboard?
I hope this processors is works in mod bios :
Intel Pentium E5200 and/or
Intel Pentium E6500 and/or
Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 and/or
Intel Core 2 Quad 65/45nm (Q6600, Q9550).
Please, 45nm dual-core is good, but my mb not support these processors. Quad-Core support is very BIG plus, but not important.
Sorry my bad english...

Hi,
I am new here, and i have the same board came with HP a6041, this board having Intel 945G chipset, I was looking for HP to release bios update to support Intel E7xxx series (45nm and 1066 FSB).
The latest released bios date was 6/5/2008 (version 5.23) approximately two years back (
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software10/...p37378.exe), after that they didn't release any updates for cpu microcode.
I tried to find any similar board with same chip supporting the new Intel processors but without any luck.
Why we can't extract these microcodes from any other boards like gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R link to the bios
http://asia.giga-byte.com/FileList/BIOS/...s2r_f8.exe
Any help will be appreciated
TheWiz could possibly do this but i cannot , this is not my area of expertise , sorry!

Hi, I have a Compaq SR5013WM that contains an Asus P5LP-LE motherboard and I am looking to add support for an Intel e7200 chip that I recently got from a friend. The board has support for the e4x00 and e6x00 chips but has not been updated to support the e7x00 chips.
here is a link to the bios:
5.23 bios
extracting it you can find 523.rom which I assume is the file that needs to be modified. I'm hoping that since it has support for the older core 2 duos that my e7200 can be easily added.
Thanks much,
Nate
Is there anyone who can help? I believe I can do it through direct hex editing but I don't know what I would have to replace it with. I can not find the cpuid code for the intel e7200 and I can't seem to find a bios with micro codes of the same size... Is it going to be possible to get my e7200 working with this board?
Thanks
I have not had much luck finding a board that has similar specs to this board and it leads me to believe that this chip will not be supported by the board... Have you had any luck?
Many apologies for the delay in answering , i have been on holiday! :-)
as ej52 correctly said , this bios needs the 10676 microcode inserting for the bios to correctly identify the E7200. The current 5.23 bios has microcode for just the e4xxx and e6xxx CPU's.
Try this at your own risk , ive inserted the 10767 CPU Microcode into the 5.23 bios. There wasn't enough free space to include all the different CPU Steppings and revisions of the 10676 microccode (which is 44kb in total!!) so i released a couple of the extra language roms which aren't needed anyway!
Best Of Luck! Let us know how you go

No luck : ( I got the bios flashed just fine and it booted with the Pentium D that I had in there but when I swapped in the e7200, nothing. All the fans spin up and it sounds like it's running but the screen stays black and none of my USB stuff lights up. Oh well. Guess I'll have to get a new board to support this chip?
