I recently flashed my HP NW8240 with the most recent BIOS minus WWAN whitelist so I could use my new TP-Link TL-WN861N (AR9223 chipset) wireless-b/g/n card. I was so happy when it accepted the new card but ever since installing it, I have been experiencing random disconnects and I'm unable to reconnect unless I reboot. I'm prompted for the password over and over, but it won't connect until I reboot the machine. I'm running Arch Linux, so I even tried unloading and reloading the driver but it doesn't help. Is this a normal symptom of using an "incompatible" card on a modified BIOS or is the card itself perhaps to blame?

the bios hack just allow using "no official cards" no more no less.

That's what I thought...very strange problem. The other odd thing I noticed is that the wireless LED comes on when I turn the wireless OFF. Must be the card then, or possibly an issue with the ath9k driver...
