Apologies for the problems with the download - the link was not the problem; removed a download manager and was able to access the file.

Currently on HP F.09 - tried to patch F.08 and apply but that failed to load - going to try phoenix tool 183 on F.09 and see what happens.

Ok so I've messed around with a bunch of settings. If I load PT183 and change nothing - just have it unpack and repack - I'm pretty sure the file that results is identical - and I applied it and the laptop didn't brick.
Not really sure where to go from here. I have an Elitebook 8540p as well with the same WWAN and WLAN lock on it.
If anyone out there has any bright ideas - I've certainly got the time and patience to try them out ; 2 example xx40p laptops to try.
Feeling a bit stupid for buying HP about now.
Thanks.
I resume what i understand,
when doing no change the laptop don't brick!!!!
that's not a surprise!!!!
I wrote, any attempt to modify the bios brick the laptop.

Not really sure where to go from here.
I gave you a step by step full procedure for doing the requested changes, what's the result?

for 8540p, apply exactly the procedure of the 2540, for modules:
1124113F-2F8F-4973-BC82-2E505256B9D7_3_815.ROM
and
5EE86B35-0839-4A21-8845-F1ACB0F688AB_3_155.ROM

but i've already tried some months ago --> requester bricked the laptop

regards
I only tried makng no changes to be sure of debugging the repack procedure. I followed your instructions very carefully and unfortunately it didnt "work" as you said from the beginning. Ive also tried modifying just the first module.
Ive discovered if i interupt the boot with the escape key, choose f9 and then hot insert the wwan card the system starts and the OS sees the cards and everything works until the next reboot.
Ill try the same task with the 8540p and post the result.
@TTAV134 - could we attempt to try other modifications to make this BIOS series work? I guess that there is a check in place that fails when even a single byte is modified in those modules.
I'm happy to keep trying.

unfortunately i do not have an access to such machines, i've reach the limits.
that's up to you now.
Please, any update ??
