Hi,

after the tragic and premature death of my good IP35-E where I had been able to unlock AHCI, I now have an "upgraded" board, the abit IP35 Pro version. This board has an additional microcontroller called 'µGuru' for sensors, voltage settings and fan speed regulation, where it replaces and enhances the functionality of the SuperIO chip.

The SuperIO (a Winbond W83627DHG) has no control over the fan speeds anymore, which is annoying to me because I had to find out that the Linux driver for the µGuru chip cannot access the fan control registers (link).

Luckily, the BIOS Setup has a page for anything µGuru-related, including the 'FanEQ', where one can define which fans should be regulated in which voltage range referring to the temperature of either CPU or SYS temperature.

There is one problem, which leads me to my actual request: The lowest voltage allowed for any of the 6 fans is 8V. I would like to go as low as 0V, which is possible with a userspace tool on the IP35-E, but not inside the 'FanEQ' of my IP35 Pro.

So, could you please look into the BIOS and try to unlock all the voltages down to 0V? This is probably a tricky one, I wasn't able to find the µGuru page (called 'AbitEQ' or so) using modbin-2.01.02. Solving this would be great; my ears became a bit fastidious from the near-silence before my old board died and, of course, from the complete silence before the new one arrived Wink

I'll add a few photos of the BIOS setup soon.

You can find BIOS files on a likeminded website (link), including a modded version which would probably be the best to modify (it has updated SATA Option ROMs).

Cheers,
