Now i've tested with another SATA drive (spare 2.5" laptop drive) and AHCI works just fine.Detects the drive and it could even boot windows on off it...

So it must be something wrong with my first drive, BIOS seems to be working fine.
Thank you very much, Camilo!!!
Thank you so much
Finally my P5KC works with AHCI and i can now go ahead to install my Hackintosh

Also trying resseting cmos and rebooting before activating ahci.

this is the file, it has 35 downloads now, and only you find it not working. :-?¿

This one is the mentioned v2 in earlier posts, compare with the one you have downloaded.

Would this work with a p5K Premium board? I'm buying an SSD and looking for AHCI support too. Very new to this bios stuff though so a little rusty but looking to get my SSD up and running with the support for it to run as best it can.

Any help is much appreciated

Jim
This looks very promising! Big Grin
I'm interested in buying a SSD and would of course prefer if AHCI worked,
hopefully I'm going to try this out within 2 weeks and return with some feedback!

Thanks Camilo! Tongue
Hi again!

I've just flashed with the file version (1203 (H:03 B:20).
But still cannot find the ACHI option under the main menu.

If I go under the "SATA Configuration" menu,
I can only choose between "Disabled/Compatible/Enhanced" and
in the options menu below there's only "IDE".. =(

Please help! =)

Try to clear cmos Wink
Wich tool can i use to flash this rom? I'm sure Afudos would work but, can i use Afuwin or the flash utility provided by the Bios?

Thank you.

Ok, i finally used Afudos but had to rool back since with this new rom, the attansic net card wasn't detected by any OS, as it reported a strange mac address. What a pity.
You have had lot of luck not to brick ypur mobo, there are lots of p5k boards, se, deluxe,....etc and each one needs it's own bios. Crossflashing them can result in some hardware nonfunction and also in a brick.
