Hi,

Is it possible to unlock all the hidden options for the DV9408ca? I'm really interested in any AHCI/IDE settings and VGA Memory Size settings, but anything and everything else would be cool too.
Here's the latest BIOS: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...94&sw_lang=

Also, I'd like to get the whitelist removed, I know this isn't the section for that but should I get that done first or can I have that done with this modified BIOS, if possible?
For whitelist will need to request separately. Regarding the settings you looking for, I'll check for you later.
Thanks, I'd really like to get my SSD working in this laptop and hopefully having the ability to change the SATA mode will help.
This is modified BIOS image for HP Pavilion DV9408ca. It's based on BIOS F.43. Use at your own risk!

Unfortunately, AHCI option is not available. If you use this modified BIOS, please post some pictures of the unlocked options/menus & post them here.

Quote:NOTES: I have unlocked other menu as well. Please be careful with it. If your computer doesn't boot after changing something in the sub-menu, you will need to disconnect the CMOS/RTC battery to reset CMOS back to default. To do so, you will need to open your notebook casing.
Please make sure your notebook can recover corrupted BIOS with CRISIS disk before flashing BIOS with this modified BIOS image. I will not responsible for any problem. Good luck. Smile
Awesome, thanks.

I've flashed the BIOS successfully and the menus look 100% like the ones in your screenshots. And changed a few settings, they took the changes and when I enabled SATA HotPlug Windows detected a new nVidia SATA Controller. Unfortunately like you said it doesn't have any ACHI or IDE mode change settings and the SSD still doesn't get detected properly.

FYI, this F.43 BIOS is also applicable to a wide range of HP Pavilion DV6000 and DV9000 and several other series with AMD CPU's so if it gets moved to the other section maybe the title can be changed to reflect that.
Please post the processor & chipset name. I'll try take a look in their datasheet for AHCI (but no promise).

Thank you for the feedback. Smile For now, I'll moved this to unlocked section.
Sorry I've busy and didn't see a reply.

Its an AMD Athlon ™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TK-53 1.7Ghz
nVidia Geforce Go 6150/nForce 403 chipset I think.

Kizwan's BIOS mod for the dv9408 could solve my problem if the download link was in working condition. Does anyone have a copy? Could you post it or send directly?
I could use this bios as well and was hoping for AHCI as well. Could someone fix the url or send me a link for the bios.

Thank you much.
Would this bios work for a HP DV6408nr? If so may I please get it.
