it's probably best until we wait for a recovery as I had to disassemble the entire laptop (which wasn't easy.) The links for disassembly can be found:

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/sy...#wp1180211 -- chassis cover
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/sy...attery.htm -- battery.

Do NOT check any of the advanced options in WinFlash, I checked a few as I thought there was a problem with writing the new BIOS to the chip, but it ended up bricking me temporarily. The laptop would not power down and was stuck on with a black screen. The Dell XPS 15Z (L511Z) does not have an easily removable battery. After the battery pull I was able to power the computer down, reconnect the battery then power it back up. It did not want to start at first, as it powered up, hung then rebooted itself and ran normally. Perhaps this was an automated recovery running itself, I am not sure.

ok , no problem , i will not upload other mods till we find a recovery method Smile
Hello Ahmed, I have dell xps 15z and I used mod 3.wph and winflash your modified http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/attachment.php?aid=2621 but nothing change. It flashed but bios is stock. Your bios modified file is *.wph but bios image supported is *.rom, *.bank, *.img. I don't understand Big Grin. I used windows 7 64bit. Other method for dell xps 15z? Thank you very much.
Hey guys

A new bios update (A06) was posted - is it possible to unlock all the options?

Download here: http://support.dell.com/support/download....aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&releaseid=R314767&SystemID=XPS_L511Z&servicetag=&os=W764&osl=en&deviceid=26381&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=6&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=0&libid=1&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&fileid=476073

The reason I need this to be unlocked is that I run OS X Lion on this machine, and in order for Optimus to be properly configured (and the Nvidia GT525M to run properly) the feature needs to be unlocked.

Any help with this?

Cheers and thanks in advance
