You should read the sticky thread in phoenix unlocking section about how to fash the modified bios and follow the instructions .
Obviously you were exactly right. It worked!

If anyone is like me and navigated to this site, found your notebook, and proceeded to backtrack from there, the link HOW TO FLASH MODIFIED BIOS is the appropriate instructions. I offer the suggestion that adding the sticky to the Unlocked topic would be of service.

The Bios Update tab contains information that is not relevant to this topic.

So, here's a 8942G with the unlocked Intel Tab thanking you for the assistance.
I did it!!But is there anything that i can use to increase overall performance?
And also can't find any RAID options yet..

I found this: http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles...io-devices
Hello if this fits the model bios 8942G? ATI is because the 8940G is NVIDA
I realize that this is a very old thread, but I just came across one of these machines, and flashing the modded BIOS posted by AHMED worked perfectly the first time. Thank you!
Hi there i use an old Acer Aspire 8940g and flashed my Phoenix ... ( many thx for the files and the HOW TO nice work and looks great Wink now i want to setup my TDP it sets to 45 watts, i want to put in a higher cpu and a new graphicscard ... the follow temps is not a problem i modified the coolingsystem and the fan, but wich settings i have to edit to higher the TDP ?

after some net searching i can NOT say wich part does restrict the TDP maybe the CPU, maybe the GTS 250M or the Board ... exists a modded BIOS where is free ALL possible settings for this book ? maybe unlock for the fan to steering it on the OS with SpeedFan or FanControl something like that.
