Bios Mods -The Best BIOS Update and Modification Source

Hello there,

I have got an Acer TravelMate 5742G notebook with dedivated Nvidia graphis card.
Unfortunately Acer has hidden the "Display Mode" option in the Bios, so it is impossible to switch between the integrated Intel IGP and the dedicated Nvidia GPU.
Could anyone of the experts here around this board help me out by unlocking this (and if possible some other hidden features)?

Hello there. My primary problem is that my laptop temp tables sucks...if i play dota my cpu reaches quickly 90° and after a lot of throttling it shuts down instantly. I tried using RW Everything but i can't find the fan speed value. Actually i have this version of the bios...if there's a way to edit it and solve my problem it would be really great.

Thanks for your answer. So it dosen't matter if my laptop is from Travelmate series right?

I will proceed to flash until i get this confirm.

My first attemp is to get control on the fan because there's no way to change its speed...i think that a modded bios could help me.

Second question: i read somewhere that acer notebooks keep settings inside the bios chip...so if i try to undervolt it with a modded bios and i got stuck in post i will not be able to recover it by clearing the cmos...am i right?

I will explain how to check bios compatibility !
Download your last Bios and  try to looking for your MoBo laptop infos !
Now You have got MoBo name and You are a step forword, next step is find all
laptops which Mount same MoBo, so find and download Service Manual for your laptop and look for more infos (many times is wrote into laptops list)
or looking for It on internet, now You have a laptop list !
Now download a Bios with same release as yours for another laptop into list :

Acer Aspire 4745 - G - Z  - 4820  - G - T - TG - TZ - TZG  - 5820  - G - T - TG - TZ - TZG - 5742 - G - Z - ZG - Packard Bell EasyNote TK85 - TK87

You have to do an Hex Byte by Byte Compare between these two files and if they are equal You have done BINGO !!!

Every Bios for that laptop is good as MoBo are the same !
Many manufacturers Build different laptps based on same MoBo They are different only for CPU, PCI vendors, GPU, etc. and at last for price, but Heart is the same !!!
So use this good tool Beyond Compare and do an files hex compare by yourself (just to learn) and let me know !

Look by your eyes and trust in Me !
Many Acer Bios have Fan Control in Bios and I think this too, but normaly is visible so if into your is not present is the same into this one (they are equal ) !

Really thanks a lot mate! I trust you but i get it a shot and checked by my own to...and the bios releases are exactly the same! I will flash it now.
I hope there is a way to control this [censored] fan...i always get a shutdown every time it reaches 90° and fan dosen't even go to its maximum speed.

Is safe to try to undervolt my i3 with this modded bios?

I don't know but there are many thread from Rajkosto on MDL or Notebookreview and here too, so search them and I think You'll find the answer !

hi guys. i have a acer travelmate 5742 that uses pew71 bios. i searched everywhere but i find couple links that absolutely dead. i want the all hidden menus to be usable. you guys please mod this bios for me? sorry for my bad english.
