Hello guys. I'd like to request an unlock of this Sager/Clevo Bios, as I am hoping to get some access to ACPI or thermal settings which allow some sort of influence on
the fan control of this laptop. Thanks for your great efforts in advance.[attachment=2819]
Hi,

Is this Clevo M570RU? I already unlocked Clevo M570RU BIOS. If your notebook is Clevo M570RU, I'll post the modified BIOS here.

BTW, you should be able to obtain original BIOS from your reseller. Backup BIOS is not complete & it is not advisable for Phoenix BIOS.
Yes, the notebook also goes by the name M570RU, I just took Clevo's original product name
for the reference.
Has it already been confirmed that it is safe to flash this unlocked Bios of yours,
or am I supposed to play the guinea pig in this case?
Does anybody know the keystroke for this model to enter Pheonix Bios Recovery Mode, like
Ctrl+Home, Fn+ Esc, or any other Fn+B, etc. combinations, in case the flash goes bad?
Thanks for your efforts kizwan.
When dealing with BIOS there always risk. You will be surprise how many have bricked their laptop because BIOS update didn't goes well. And this BIOS is released by manufacturer, original BIOS. With modified BIOS, it also have the same risk.

I usually active at NBR forum: http://forum.notebookreview.com/acer/480...quest.html
This is the link to the modified BIOS: http://forum.notebookreview.com/acer/480...ost7154204

I post the link here because I just want to show you the modified BIOS has been ready. It requested earlier this year but that person didn't give any feedback. If you want to use it, use at your own risk!

As far as I know, BIOS recovery is not possible on Clevo/Sager notebook. Will need to flash the BIOS chip directly using BIOS programmer or buy a pre-flashed BIOS chip for your notebook (I don't remember the website URL but they sell BIOS chip for several notebook).
All right, I PMed the original requester from notebookreview forums, and will report back
as soon as I get positive/negative feedback from him.
I've already opened the machine several times, but never really paid any attention to
the Bios chip, so I don't even know on which side of the mainboard it is on, and
whether it is easily replaceable (socketed) or soldered onto the mainboard.
If it is socketed I'll probably order a preflashed chip from a good service I know.

Edit: I found another post from this user, referencing you, and suggesting that there's no problem with using this Bios.

"The only thing I can think of is to ask kizwan if he can mod it for you (he activates hidden bios features in many bioses, including the one I'm using - clevo M570RU). Post in this thread if you want to try him."
