Board = MSI K9N6PGM2-V2(FOR EUP v2.2)
Board Rev = 2.3
Model = MS-7309
BIOS Rev. = A.40

So apparently Fry's has been selling this version of the K9N6PGM2-V2 board, but there is really no a good way to tell which version you have (There is the vanilla K9N6PGM2-V2, K9N6PGM2-V2(FOR EUP), and K9N6PGM2-V2(FOR EUP v2.2). So most of you guys might be confused on which BIOS to submit/request. I had to save a copy of the BIOS to a USB Stick first and realize how the versions of the BIOS were setup.

The Fry's Electronics in Austin, TX is selling the K9N6PGM2-V2(FOR EUP v2.2) version (Item#6027288). The picture it shows is RED...but the mobo you get is Black...which is why I had the confusion.

After going through 3 different mobo's trying to figure out the correct BIOS, the LiveUpdate 5 program seems to be the only way to verify the BIOS version and update it in Windows (no download link).

Knowing this now, I had to make my own SLIC 2.1 of the BIOS using AMITool.

So I have made this SLIC with the MSI SLIC & Cert. Its a 2.1 SLIC and it works just fine in Win7!

* Backup your Current BIOS first!!! You can do this in BIOS in the M-Flash Menu *

Just copy this on a FAT32 USB Stick, rename the file to "A7309NMS.A50" and boot into BIOS (even though this is version A.40, I chose to rename it to A.50 so that the BIOS thinks its an updated BIOS)...Goto the M-Flash menu and first try the "Boot" option...choose the file...and make sure your download of this BIOS works first!

If it boots up, then go back into BIOS...M-Flash menu and choose to "Update BIOS".

Choose the File and flash!

Enjoy!
This didn't work for me. No slic found.

Check out this BIOS in AMIModTool and verify it yourself.

I just checked it. If you extract the ZIP file and load up the BIOS file from the BIOS folder using AMITOOL (AMI SLIC MOD Tool 1.62 is what I used) it will tell you the SLIC is already a 2.1 SLIC. See Pic below:

Thanks! I screwed up my board by flashing the incorrect bios, the correct bios was never available on the MSI site. Was able to recover with flashrom in Linux using rayer_spi using this bios dump. I got my board at Fry's in Austin as well Tongue
Sorry to bring up a 2yr old thread but I'm wanting to add SLIC 2.1 to this board BUT my bios version is currently A50, Will this still work? Just rename it to A60? I used the Live update and got the new BIOS but have not flashed yet. I can upload the BIOS and my RW report if it needs to updated with the latest BIOS.

I Uploaded the A60 BIOS and RW report In a single ZIP just in case...
