ok so let me tell you what happened, it worked.
but when i flashed it froze which scared me, but i did the brave thing of powering it off, i crossed my fingers, powered it on and presto it was fine.
i put in my wireless card unsure if it worked and presto that worked as well!
i had almost given up hope but it worked!
there will be a donation coming your way!!! many many thanks!!!

I just wanted to elaborate on how i managed to get the flash program to work for my Lenovo g570.
From my experience it seemed to be os edition specific, i had windows 7 64bit edition, regardless of what i did it just wouldn't open giving me a "could not load driver" error
so what i did was installed windows 7 32bit to confirm my theory,
but now with more experience this is what can be done which is far more easy.
i downloaded the 64bit version of the flash program from Lenovo,
then i extracted the contents from the 64 bit edition and camiloml's 32 bit edition using winrar and
then i placed the "PIWG2209" firmware from "camiloml" and copied it in the folder for the 64bit version which managed to let me open it w/ little problems, it wouldn't let me flash saying i already had the same version and that it was up to date.
**note**the contents can be extracted using winrar
Next thanks to "camiloml" for his help, i had the edit the platform.ini file to force it to flash just like he said which lead to my successful flash

like i said in my post, just download the flashing program from lenovo's website for the 64bit edition and copy over the firmware from camiloml's download and you should be set.
obviously make sure to delete the firmware that came from lenovo otherwise it could load the unmodified one and it wont let you

The 64bit version of the flash program from Lenovo is not unpacking to the folder, so I can't change anything in Lenovo frimware as it's executing straigt away.
